Yes - completely. MealLane is free with no subscription, no ads, and no data collection. All your recipes and meal plans stay on your device. We recommend kitchen products through optional affiliate links, but that never costs you anything.
Do I need to create an account to use MealLane?
No. MealLane is a private, local-first PWA with no accounts and no cloud - all meal plans, recipes, and shopping lists are stored in your browser on your device. It works offline and is installable without an app store.
How does the grocery list generator work?
Plan your week by assigning meals to each day, then tap Generate Shopping List. MealLane builds the list from the recipes in your plan. You can check items off, add extras, and export the list as CSV or Markdown.
Can I back up my recipes?
Yes. Use the JSON export in My Meals to create a complete local backup of your recipe library, then import that file on another device whenever you need to restore or transfer your data.
Is my meal and recipe data private?
